Purpose of visit: To check the progress of the new gymnasium and to present a portrait of Margaret Methley

People met: The President of the association Tran Xuan Thai, the Vice President, the association’s administrator Mr Zung and Dr Lan Nguyen Dinh 

 

We were welcomed by the president in the new meeting room, built with the help of the government. He told of the sadness of hearing about Margaret’s death and told us that they had held a minutes silence at their next meeting as a mark of respect. The new gymnasium should be operational by the end of May. It is intended that following completion of the gymnasium they will have a granite block placed outside bearing Margaret’s name and a tribute to her generosity in braille. The A3 print of Margaret, on canvas, was presented to the association with the promise that it would be prominently displayed in the new gymnasium.
