24/03/2011 - People met: Dr Nguyen Tuan (Director of the Hospital), Dr Le Que (vice-director), Dr Nguyen Viet Dong (Deputy Director),Tran Nguyen Ngo (Head of the procurement division), Tran Thai Son (Deputy Director of the Department of Health), Dr Nguyen Quy (Head of Paedriatrics), Dr Nguyen Quor Tuan (Head of the Eye Department).
We were welcomed by Dr Le Que who reported on the relationship between the hospital and MSAVLC since 2007. He made reference to the equipment supplied by MSAVLC - incubators, a negative pressure machine and the eye diagnostic and operation equipment. He supplied a list of statistics showing the effectiveness of the donated equipment. We were shown round the new Hospital buildings, a refreshing change from the old ones. The new buildings are being occupied as they are built with the old ones then being demolished. Whilst the whole area resembles a building site the new units were clean and inviting, we saw operations taking place and visited the intensive care ward, suitably attired for the visit.
It is clear that the new hospital is a major step forward for Ha Tinh and that everyone connected with the hospital has real gratitude for the help given by MSAVLC.
