Initiated in 1987.
This aimed at raising £30,000.00 to provide a service for Women (chiefly in South Vietnam) suffering from exposure to Agent Orange. This toxic chemical caused different types of cancers (many not previously encountered), but predominantly affecting pelvic organs. We conferred with the Tu Dzu Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and agreed to supply medical equipment for cervical smears (including binocular microscopes) so that the district hospitals in the South should be brought up to the same level of proficiency as the Tu Dzu, which took all the most serious cases for the entire south of the country. This was more than successful and we were also able to supply Cambodia with equipment for their midwives.
